Erin Abouzaid, PhD, CFA has been the Chief Investment Officer of the Stony Brook Foundation since April 2012. She is responsible for managing the investments and risk in Stony Brook’s endowment portfolio and for reporting and making recommendations to the investment committee regarding the portfolio. Prior to joining the Foundation, Erin was a Vice President in the Portfolio and Risk Management Group at State Street Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In that role, she was responsible for performing customized quantitative investment research on asset-liability optimization, manager assessment, currency hedging, scenario analysis, and stress-testing for public and private pension plans, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, and other institutional investors.

Erin received her PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago, where she specialized in experimental particle physics, and her BS in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Richmond in Virginia. She has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
